The Impact Award recognizes influential women leaders from organizations of 50 or fewer employees, making a significant impact.
BOSTON – Friday, November 1, 2024 – The Women’s Edge today announced the Black Economic Council of Massachusetts was named as an awardee in the first annual Impact Awards, which honors women-led businesses in Massachusetts with an impact that far exceeds their size. One of five awardees, the Black Economic Council of Massachusetts and its leader, Nicole Obi, have been selected as key influencers for their significant impact with the advancement of women leaders, diversity, equity, and inclusion across Massachusetts and globally. Today, the honorees were recognized during The Women’s Edge 24th Annual Top 100 Women-Led Businesses Awards celebration.
The four other honorees are Lauren Cook, Ellis Early Learning; Deb Fowler, History UnErased; BECMA Member Rose Staram, Rosemark Production; and Christina Gordon, Women’s Foundation of Boston.

This year marks the inaugural celebration of The Women’s Edge Impact Awards. The 2024 Top 100 women were asked to nominate leaders and organizations that are making a difference in the development and advancement of all women. Workplace culture, management diversity, board makeup, and innovative programs were also key selection criteria.
