The BECMA@10 campaign will ensure our organization can sustain our community impact and continue our movement to build Black wealth across Massachusetts.
BECMA will celebrate our ten year anniversary in November of 2025. The BECMA@10 campaign will ensure our organization can sustain our community impact and continue our movement to build Black wealth across Massachusetts.
We are raising $3.5 million to create the BECMA Sustainability Hub, our new Roxbury headquarters to empower Black businesses, foster environmental justice, and strengthen the local economy.
With $5 million in funding, we can build on the success of our pilot program by supporting more Black-owned business denied traditional funding—proving their bankability and fueling their growth.
We seek $16.5 million in unrestricted funds to continue to build and sustain our programming and fuel our mission across the state.

BECMA Sustainability Hub | More Than a Building
Purchasing a permanent headquarters at 253-257 Roxbury St. in Nubian Square will secure our future and illustrate the power of ownership to our members. We will leverage this two-unit space for our use and for other mission-aligned organizations. Beyond holding an equity stake, we will earn revenue from leases and event fees, further growing and sustaining our programming.
Nubian Square is the heart of Boston’s Black community, with a rich past and present of culture, education, and economic development. Our focus is to ensure that the neighborhood’s future supports opportunities for the people and businesses of color that currently call it home.
We plan to use the BECMA Sustainability Hub as a space to convene, engage, and advocate for environmental justice and decarbonization in our communities, and further develop Massachusetts’ diverse supply chain in the green economy and sustainability sectors.
